Johsian Martinez

Johsian Martinez is a talented choreographer and performer based in the tristate area, with expertise in Hip Hop, Modern, Contemporary, and Latin dances. He holds a Master’s in Dance Education and a BFA in Dance Performance, both from Rutgers University. Johsian is currently the Dance Teacher at Rutgers Preparatory School in Somerset, NJ, where he also leads the Hip Hop segment of the Rutgers Dance auditions. Additionally, he teaches dance at InSpira Performing Arts & Cultural Center, and other local dance studios in Central and Northern New Jersey
Johsian has choreographed musicals such as "Addams Family" and "Matilda" at both Rutgers Preparatory School and Woodbridge High School. His choreography work at Woodbridge High School has earned him recognition and nominations for awards at the Central Jersey Marquee Awards. He also teaches at various local studios throughout Central and Northern New Jersey. In 2022, Johsian received the Nancy Higginson Door Award for his outstanding contributions to dance education.
