Dress Code for a Intermediate Level Dancers: Levels 3 & 4

Tap Dress Code: Hair & Shoes

Hair Requirements:

For Girls: All Intermediate Level Dancers: Levels 3 & 4 Tap girls are required to wear their hair to be pulled back and out of the face. A neat ballet bun is not required unless they are coming from a ballet class before the tap class. In such cases, there is no need to take the hair down.

For Boys:

Boys with Short Hair: Must keep their hair neatly trimmed and styled away from the face to maintain clear visibility and a tidy appearance.

Boys with Long Hair: Must pull their hair back neatly and secure it firmly. While a full bun is not required, the hair must be tied back so that it remains out of the face and securely fastened, ensuring no distraction or hindrance during class movements.

Shoes:

For Girls:

Level 3 Female Tap Dancers: For Level 3 female tap dancers, they must wear Capezio Tic Tap Toe Tap Shoes (443) in BLACK.

Level 4 and Up Female Tap Dancers: For Level 4 and up, our tap dancers wear So Danca TA55 in Caramel. These are character shoes with metal taps at the soles of the feet. At this level, we focus on rhythm, balance, precision, and execution. These shoes help our more advanced dancers build strength and become accustomed to these new skills.

For Boys: Beginner Level Dancer: Levels 3 & 4 Tap for boys are required to wear a BLACK laced taps shoes that are matte not gloss. Our dancers usually use either the Capezio Tic Tap Toe Tap Shoes (443) in BLACK or Lace Up Tap Shoes from Discount Dance.

Ballet Dress Code: Hair & Shoes

Hair Requirements:

For Girls: Intermediate Level Dancers: Levels 3 & 4 Ballet girls are required to wear their hair in a neat ballet bun, positioned to ensure it stays out of the face and does not interfere with movement. This style is crucial for maintaining focus, safety, and a professional appearance during class.

For Boys:

Boys with Short Hair: Must keep their hair neatly trimmed and styled away from the face to maintain clear visibility and a tidy appearance.

Shoes:

For Girls: Beginner Level Dancer: Levels 3 & 4 Ballet girls must wear Capezio Hanami (Canvas) 2037W. ALL female dancers at InSpira must wear flesh tone shoes to match as close to the student’s natural skin tone as possible. Girls are required to have matching skin tone shoes, just like their tights, to ensure the dancer's full line extension is visible without any breaks.

For Boys: Beginner Level Dancer: Levels 3 & 4 Ballet boys are required to wear BLACK Capezio Hanami (Canvas) 2037W

Purchasing Shoes: All ballet shoes for both girls and boys must be purchased exclusively through Capezio.

Jazz Dress Code: Hair & Shoes

Hair Requirements:

For Girls: All Intermediate Level Dancers: Levels 3 & 4 Jazz girls are required to wear their hair to be pulled back and out of the face. A neat ballet bun is not required unless they are coming from a ballet class before the tap class. In such cases, there is no need to take the hair down.

For Boys:

Boys with Short Hair: Must keep their hair neatly trimmed and styled away from the face to maintain clear visibility and a tidy appearance.

Shoes:

For Girls and Boys: ALL Intermediate Level Dancers: Levels 3 & 4 Jazz girls must wear the Jazz shoes: Capezio EJ2 SLIP-ON JAZZ (Black) from Capezio you can either order online or in person but we highly recommend to go in person to try on the shoes to make sure they fit.

Purchasing Shoes: All Jazz shoes for girls must be purchased exclusively through Capezio. This ensures that all students wear uniform footwear that meets our specific quality standards.

Purchasing Shoes: All hip hop required shoes for girls and boys must be purchased outside of the studio where every you are able to purchase

Leotards/Shirts: You can purchase your leotards directly from InSpira Newark. To put a leotard on hold, you must pay through the InSpira online store. For our Boys they can purchase there shirt at Capezio. Hip Hop Shirts can be ONLY purchased at the InSpira Online Store.

Shoes: All Little InSpirations dancers who take ballet and tap must order their shoes through InSpira Newark or Franklin and can be requested by using our Shoe Request Form.

Stock: We usually have leotards, backup shoes (which you can either borrow or purchase), and tights in stock.

Bulk Orders: We place bulk orders every three months. If you would like to go through us, you will receive a logo leotard. Otherwise, you must purchase the leotard in-store.

Tights: Tights are also available for purchase at InSpira Newark for Little InSpiration Dancers.

Main Dancewear Location: Capezio Clark has our dress code on file and offers a discount to all InSpira dancers.

Little InSpiration Dancers: Young Dancers will not need much from Capezio yet. But for those dancers that are 5 & 6 they are able to take jazz or hip hop in which they follow the same dress code shoe as our level 1 dancers. EVERYTHING ELSE SHOULD BE PURCHASED AT INSPIRA

Shoes: ALL EXP BALLET DANCERS MUST HAVE MATCHING SKIN TONE SHOES. All other discipline shoes can be purchased here as well.

Leotards & Shirts: You can purchase all uniform leotards and shirts here regardless of age, level, or location. However, you will need to give them your newly bought leotard so that it can be embroidered with the required InSpira logo. *Please be advised it takes up to 3 weeks for the logo to be embroidered and is an additional $10 from the leotard price if you get it directly from Capezio. If you get your leotard from InSpira there will be no wait time for the logo for all leotards in stock and will have the Logo already embroidered.
