Tap Dress Code: Hair & Shoes

Hair Requirements:

For Girls: All Beginner Level Dancer: Levels 1 & 2 Tap girls are required to wear their hair to be pulled back and out of the face. A neat ballet bun is not required unless they are coming from a ballet class before the tap class. In such cases, there is no need to take the hair down.

For Boys:

Boys with Short Hair: Must keep their hair neatly trimmed and styled away from the face to maintain clear visibility and a tidy appearance.

Boys with Long Hair: Must pull their hair back neatly and secure it firmly. While a full bun is not required, the hair must be tied back so that it remains out of the face and securely fastened, ensuring no distraction or hindrance during class movements.

Shoes:

For Girls: Beginner Level Dancer: Levels 1 & 2 Tap girls must wear the Capezio 3800 (Black) the shoes should be Matte NOT Gloss.

For Boys: Beginner Level Dancer: Levels 1 & 2 Tap for boys are required to wear a BLACK laced taps shoes that are matte not gloss. Our dancers usually use either the capezio CADENCE TAP SHOE or Lace Up Tap Shoes from Discount Dance.

at the Primary Level our dancers should wear a Lavender leotard with the InSpira logo or white shirt with the InSpira Logo, which can be purchased at InSpira or Capezio. They are also required to wear either suntan or pink tights for our female dancers and black dance pants for our male dancers, which should be free of runs or holes.

For Hip Hop they must wear there hip hop sneaker and there InSpira T-shirt and black leggings or pants. which can be purchased on our online store. please remember that these sneakers should be used as only shoes for class and not used on the outside concrete.

Can my child wear any additional items during classes?

Main Dancewear Location: Capezio Clark has our dress code on file and offers a discount to all InSpira dancers.

Little InSpiration Dancers: Young Dancers will not need much from Capezio yet. But for those dancers that are 5 & 6 they are able to take jazz or hip hop in which they follow the same dress code shoe as our level 1 dancers. EVERYTHING ELSE SHOULD BE PURCHASED AT INSPIRA

Shoes: ALL EXP BALLET DANCERS MUST HAVE MATCHING SKIN TONE SHOES. All other discipline shoes can be purchased here as well.

Leotards & Shirts: You can purchase all uniform leotards and shirts here regardless of age, level, or location. However, you will need to give them your newly bought leotard so that it can be embroidered with the required InSpira logo. *Please be advised it takes up to 3 weeks for the logo to be embroidered and is an additional $10 from the leotard price if you get it directly from Capezio. If you get your leotard from InSpira there will be no wait time for the logo for all leotards in stock and will have the Logo already embroidered.
